Minecraft

Today I stumbled across some rather impressive pieces of fan film on YouTube. Purely by coincidence, they were all centred around one particular game, Minecraft. For the uninitiated, Minecraft is a video game for the pc. The player finds themselves stranded on an uninhabited island (alone or with friends) tasked only with keeping themselves alive. Creativity and exploration are encouraged as the player is able to provide themselves with the tools needed to build or destroy almost anything.

Here is the OFFICAL trailer. As far as I can guess:

When I say Mincraft is good, I suppose it should be considered an understatement. In one day alone, the game reportedly managed to rake in $350,000 through digital distribution in one day. That's made all the more impressive considering that the game isn't even in final build yet, it's still being Beta tested!

And here are the wonderful fan films. To say I prefer them to the amusing yet short/mildly disturbing official trailer is an understatement:

I saved the super-geeky video 'til last. Behold Minecraft LARP comedy in all its glory:

Die Hipster!

That's not an order, it's a game. Honest.

It's pretty funny too. I guess:

UPDATE.
I almost urge you not to play this now. If only for the sake of your own sanity. The controls are terrible, the game is confusing and the music is driving me insane. 'Die Hipster' is only really redeemed by the tweets your character sends as he's standing idle. If you DO play it though, check the LED display in the Hall of Legends (or whatever they call it) if you get stuck. Just a little hint. OH, and the instructional images in the first section should ALL be useful, including the last.

I did find this looking for a walkthrough, so not all is lost:

Yes I looked for a walkthrough. Wanted to know just how much was left to play. DON'T JUDGE ME
